Let’s be real, being a first-year nursing student is already a lot.
Clinical hours, exams, learning how to save lives… it’s no small task.
But while I was deep in textbooks and scrubs, I realized something was missing.
Representation. Comfort. And real inclusion in what we wear.
That’s why I didn’t wait.
I launched La Cura, starting not with scrubs, but with something powerful and intentional:
Satin-lined, inclusive scrub caps for everyone.
Why Scrub Caps?
Because it’s the small things that matter.
The friction from cotton caps can damage hair, especially textured, coily, or braided hair like mine.
So I made our scrub caps satin-lined to protect natural hair, weaves, braids, and everything in between.
But that’s not all.
They’re also faith-inclusive, designed to respect all backgrounds.
Some caps are embroidered with Arabic calligraphy or Christian scriptures.
Others are kept simple and plain, for those who prefer minimalist style or need workplace-safe options.
Unisex. Inclusive. Protective. Respectful.
That’s the La Cura way.
These scrub caps are more than just fabric.
They’re my way of raising funds to self-finance the full La Cura scrub line —
so when I drop the scrubs, I won’t need to ask for permission or funding. Just support.
Built From Nothing. By One.
No big team. No investors.
Just me, a nursing student with a vision, a Shopify store, and a camera roll full of product shots I took myself.
There were late nights.
Shipping delays.
Moments I wanted to give up.
But I didn’t. Because I believe healthcare apparel should be as diverse as the people who wear it.
